Hi,

as i am using a 1.3.0 pcand windows machine on a Lan behind, one question=
=20
could n't it be a coming option in 1.4.0 to include an anonymizer for the=
=20
squid?=20
I find this a good idea e.g like the steganos internet anonymizer does.
But while i use this, i cannot use the squid/cache on my firewall too? So=
=20
i have no cache so no "acceleration" effect when surfing the web.
Is it possible to realize, so we can use the squid and its cache on the=20
ipcop 1.4.0 PC and also be able to surf anonym on the web?=20

Hi,

as i read too that ipcop is to come with a scsi support one more question=
=20
about it:
Is it so that the ipcop will be able to install on a multiple scsi-Hdd
system, so we can have / e.g. / on /dev/sda1 and /var on /dev/sdb1?
Will ipcop do this by installing(options) or must we move the partitions=20
manually after the installation to the other hdds of the PC?
Multiple hdd install would be a good idea because i always heard a scsi=20
would only make sens or be faster if using multiple disks. This option woul=
d=20
so allow to allocate an even larger disk only for the cache of the squid
At this other side if scsi is on one disk it wouldn't make really sense?

Actually SCSI has been a long standard of server systems. Generally
the drives were much more reliable, and had (even at low SCSI revisions)
better speeds. As the higher revisions go (I would have to pull down
numbers for exacts) I still believe the basic SCSI drives you buy are
faster then even 7200RPM ATA drives. Now serial ATA I think is another
matter, but I do not think support is in current 1.4 for serial ata, or
at least Darren Critchley questioned it and I did not see any responses.
